ONGOING PROJECTS
VirLaDEE
VirLaDEE aims at giving access to physical engineering labs through their digital twins that will be available in an innovative online platform. These virtual lab facilities will provide a playground that is complementary to the existing learning methods delivering quality and inclusive engineering education through state-of-the-art virtual technologies.
Digital Twins and HRI
Development of VR, AR and Mobile interfaces for the real-time communication with Industrial machinery such as Industrial and Mobile Robots. AR guidance applications and Human-Robot Interaction studies through immersive interfaces and connected virtual laboratories multiplayer experiences.
Gamified rehabilitation
In collaboration with East-Tallinn Central Hospital, Clinic of Medical Rehabilitation development of post- stroke and trauma immersive experiences for the rehabilitation purposes of memory and upper limbs movements.
SmartIC
SmartIC is a new research infrastructure project supporting the field of smart manufacturing (Industry 4.0), merging distributed infrastructure for future research and development activities
Photogrammetry
Various indoor and outdoor photogrammetry solutions for simulation environments development.
PSG453 - Digital twin for propulsion drive of autonomous electric vehicle
The goal of the project is to develop a prognosis and control platform for propulsion drive energy system performance estimation. It requires the development of test platforms and digital twins. A digital twin is composed of three components – the physical entities in the real world, their virtual models, and the connected data/view that ties the two worlds together.

The Virtual Learning Factory (VLF) Toolkit is a set of already existing digital tools and integrated into a common toolkit to support engineering courses dealing with manufacturing.

TEFFIC (Transforming Educational programs For Future Industry 4.0 Capabilities) is an Erasmus+ project to improve the alignment between the institutes and the industrial demands towards industry 4.0 skills of employees.
Ambulance Simulator
In collaboration with Silwi Autoehituse AS for Tallinn Health Care College were developed Ambulance car simulator. TalTech IVAR lab part was to develop control- and video system of the simulator.

Organization of EuroVR2019 Conference
Organization of the conference managed by the EuroXR association.
Milrem Robotics Nutikas UGV
In the frames of Nutikas UGV project applied research on system of sensors and software algorithms for safety and driver assistance on remotely operated ground vehicles for off-road applications will be carried out in partnership with University of Tartu and Tallinn University of Technology. The project focuses on civil applications such as internal security, rescue and mining.
